Microwave cleaning

Microwave Cleaning

The weather is cooling down and every night just seems like the perfect night to snuggle on the couch with a blanket and the latest movies on Netflix. Oh, and don’t forget the best part: popcorn! But what about at the end of the week when you suddenly realize that the inside of your microwave needs a deep cleaning from all of the butter? Not to worry, here at Already Maid we want your house to be clean inside and out, all the time. Below, you’ll find a few quick and easy tips to ensuring your microwave smells as good and fresh as the day you bought it!

You’ll only need a few simple items to make the perfect recipe for a microwave cleaner (and they’re all eco-friendly!). We’ll need a small wooden spoon, a bowl, and baking soda.
Fill the bowl with water, about 1/2-3/4 full, with the wooden spoon in the bowl, then add about 2 teaspoons of baking soda to the water. If the dirt in the microwave is minor, 3 minutes of heat should do. For tougher stains, you’ll want to heat for 4-5 minutes. If you’re unsure, just heat for 5 minutes to be on the safe side.

Upon opening the microwave, you should notice that a majority of the stains are gone and the smell should be better. Now, this next step requires us to be very careful in order to not get burned. Using a thick sponge, scrub around the microwave using the water-baking soda mixture. Be very careful doing this as the water will be hot. Once the microwave has been scrubbed, you can use a paper towel to wipe any excess away. You’re good to go!

It’s important to maintain a clean home, and that’s why we here at Already Maid love to provide these tips for you. Our maid service covers all of the basics (and more!), but it’s always good to do some simple maintenance in between your scheduled cleanings. Have any suggestions or requests for something you’d like to learn how to clean? Send us an email or give us a call! And as always, stay clean!
A better life, a better home, a better clean.
